ThePlanet was originally founded in 1998 and was merged with Everyones Internet in 2006. It is widely considered to be the largest dedicated server hosting service in the world and hosts more than 15.7 million websites and over 25,000 businesses. This has allowed ThePlanet to pass on the advantage of extreme economies of scale to their customers.

ThePlanet now owns and manages 7 different datacenters in the US (5 in Dallas and 2 in Houston), which houses more than 49,000 servers. It is considered to have the industry’s most robust instantaneous network. The Planet also offers 24 hour support, every day of the week.

Unlike other dedicated hosting providers, The Planet does not give you a pre-configured package (both Linux and Windows available); rather they believe in empowering customers designing their own customized solutions to match their budget limit. For this reason their dedicated package starts from below $100 range to up to$1,083. For example, if you have a budget of below 100 dollars, then you can tailor your own package from the “server under $100” option.

  • Extremely customizable: choose your hardware, software and additional features
  • Managed dedicated servers available with possibility to choose management level
  • European hosted servers available
  • SAS/70 Type II datacenters
  • 250 Gbps capacity connection
  • Core network security with DDoS mitigation
  • 24x7x365 customer support

The Planet hosting is maybe not the cheapest choice for dedicated server. What they certainly are is very robust and reliable host. I am using them for the past four years. One downtime - caused by me. Tech support is extremely fast - you get response in couple of minutes. Often less than three minutes. I can warmly recommend them. They are great choice for stable managed dedicated server. Very serious company.
