Beta Version of Google AdWords Campaign Experiment Tool Has Launched
Recently, Google has opened its doors to Beta testers who are interested in being the first to try out their new AdWords Campaign Experiment Tool (ACE). As with all beta launches by Google, only a limited number of applicants will be selected. Additionally, it is currently only available in the United States (English-Only), however it will be expanded to include additional languages and countries as soon as possible.
So What Is the AdWords Campaign Experiment Tool All About?
The goal of this technology is to allow AdWords advertisers to split-test or experiment on their campaigns more efficiently. Before this tool, AdWords users would have to simply change their campaign settings and then do a before and after comparison in order to determine how effective the changes were. Now, it is much more like true split-testing. Over a period of time (probably a few weeks) both your regular campaign and your experimental campaign will both be displayed approximately 50% of the time. You will then be able to see exactly how the changes made a difference. Additionally, Google can automatically create a statistical comparison of the two in order to determine how effective or ineffective the changes are. The ability for real-time testing can make managing and experimenting with your campaigns much easier to do.
How Does ACE Help?
ACE will allow you to experiment with changes to your keywords, bids, ad groups, and ad placements. You will then be able to see how these changes impact your overall campaign performance in real time. During this real time, split-test, you will be able to see the all of the changes statistically in order to determine how effective the changes really are.
While it is still in Beta, ACE seems to fulfill a very beneficial purpose for any and all AdWords users. As with all Beta testing, the tester will be reporting any bumps in the road as the rest of us eagerly await the official release.
