Hundreds of How-tos Are Released to The Web with the Launch of The Planet’s Online Knowledge Base

Knowledge Base
The Planet, one of the top hosting providers in the United States, recently launched a public knowledge base containing over 1,300 how-to and explanatory articles including technical procedures applicable to a wide range of situations.

The number of publicly available technical articles in the web hosting arena recently took a sharp jolt upward with The Planet’s online release of its technical support library. It is a virtual treasure trove of over 1,300 how-to and explanatory articles which cover a wide swath of systems and environments.

The Planet Knowledge Base features the top-rated articles sitewide as well as the most recent additions to the library. 90% of the content of the knowledge base is not dependent on a particular hosting provider, making this a true gold mine for web professionals in all areas. For example, the current featured article asks: “Is there any limit on the maximum number of connections to a PostgreSQL - Red Hat Edition server?”

The database, which The Planet has stated will grow daily, is easily searchable from the home page and can also be browsed by topic. In addition, each article can be rated from one to five. The highest rated articles are displayed on the home page, while the lowest rated are reviewed and improved.

The Planet’s team of technical support experts has been developing the knowledge base for years. The company has stated that it is launching the site publicly so that anyone around the globe, regardless
of hosting provider, can find the information they need quickly and easily, at any time of day. “It’s a one-stop site that will save businesses and users valuable time by having hundreds of how-to’s at their fingertips.”

The Planet’s highly acclaimed forum can also be accessed from the knowledge base home page.
