Host Review Announces Its Picks for the Best Web Hosting Companies of 2009

Host Review, a property of DevStart, Inc., has just announced its 2009 annual web hosting award winners. Since their debut in 2006, these awards have become an influential barometer measuring the most innovative, reliable and respected companies in the industry.

The 2009 awards were broken down into nine categories: Best Web Hosting Company, Best Dedicated Server Package, Best Managed Hosting Service, Best Budget Hosting, Best Reseller Hosting, Best SaaS Provider, Best VPS Host, Best Cloud Computing Service and Readers' Choice. The Host Review team recognized the top ten winners in each category.

The overall winner for best Hosting Company went to Verio, while Liquid Web took Best Dedicated Server Package and HostGator received the Best Budget host award, along with Best Reseller Hosting honors. The coveted Readers’ Choice Award was also won by Verio.

Companies were judged in a number of areas, including service quality, customer support, package diversity, new products and overall performance. This was the second year in which Host Review presented a Reader’s Choice Award that was completely independent of the judgment of the Host Review team. They conducted a month-long voting period, allowing visitors to the site to pick their favorite web hosting company.
