Cyberduck Review

Cyberduck Logo

Cyberduck is an open source, free FTP client for Mac OS X. Like many other open source FTP clients, it offers multiple languages, graphical interface, and supports FTP/TLS, SFTP, and WebDAV protocols. Even more, it allows for Cloud Files and Amazon S3 browsing, which can be a huge time-saver for those that need them. Another interesting feature of Cyberduck is its bookmarking system, which users have reported to be excellent up until the latest release where the bookmark drawer was removed. It is integrated with several Mac OS core system technologies including: Spotlight, Bonjour, and Keychain. Cyberduck also fully integrates AppleScript and comes with a few sample scripts for your perusal. Some users have reported that the speed has been greatly reduced in the 3.x versions and there have been a few reports of crashing when connecting to certain servers, but it still is an excellent free program with a great interface.
